55% electricity saving after building a PV

For our industrial client, we built a networked PV with a capacity of 150kWp. The construction of the plant provides more easily predictable costs, independent monitoring of electricity consumption and last but not least follows the company’s goals to reduce the carbon footprint of production through electricity saving.

The client

Mechanical engineering and metalworking enterprise with a focus on the construction of technological equipment for environmental projects. That makes it a preferred sub-supplier of major European equipment manufacturers. Following ESG directives and opportunities to reduce the carbon footprint, the company invests in the inexhaustible energy resource that a solar plant can provide.

Selected technology

After an energy analysis of the electricity consumption, a network power plant with the sale of the surplus of the produced electricity with a capacity of 150 kWp was selected. The principle of operation of photovoltaic installations consists in the conversion of current with constant voltage. That is achieved by means of an inverter, with compatible parameters of the network to which it is connected. The main part of the equipment is the inverter, which monitors the parameters and automatically adjusts the electricity generation process. Another major component is the selected photovoltaic panels with a peak power of 495 Wp. The installation is mounted on the roof of the building. The placement of the photovoltaic panels is according to the location and the peak solstice.

The network plant allows the electricity produced, but not consumed, to be fed into the transmission system of the ERP.

Our solution

In order to achieve the company’s goals for electricity saving, we installed the following technological equipment, as well as the adjacent electrical, grounding and lightning protection installation:

  • Polycrystalline panels SUNRISE SR-50MAX495H (495 Wp) – 300 pcs.

The choice of polycrystalline panels is determined by several factors – the “voltage-current” ratio, balanced system and, last but not least, affordability.

  • Grid solar inverter Growatt MAX 50KTL3 LV – 3 pcs. with a total power of 150 kW

Inverters are distinguished by high reliability, stable operation in case of radiation drop and good starting voltage.

The chosen configuration allows a module efficiency of more than 20% with a peak power of 495 Wp. The price-quality ratio is also tailored to meet investment requirements. The installation is located on the roof of the building facing south/southwest, at the most optimal angle possible, according to the structural features of the roof.

#Know-How for electricity saving

The construction of photovoltaic plants ensures independence and sustainability. In this way, companies are less susceptible to fluctuations in electricity prices and power outages in the power grid. This stability ensures the continuity of production processes and reduces the possibility of losses. On the other hand, it demonstrates a commitment to environmental responsibility and the positioning of companies as leaders in sustainable policies, distinguishing them from competitors.

ATAMIQ’s experience in the supply and construction of RES installations enables the industry to implement technologies and solutions to reduce the carbon footprint. We do this in accordance with the requirements of the Green Deal and the RePowerEU plan. The advantages of building your own photovoltaic plant are:

  • automated power generation process with 24/7 remote system monitoring;
  • ecologically clean production of electricity with an inexhaustible resource;
  • long service life and a 25-year warranty;
  • one-time investment with capacity expansion options.
